Kyoto Walking Tour

Itinerary

Start off at Gion Shijo station of the Keihan train line which is in the heart of the Gion entertainment district. Walk leisurely past the most famous Kabuki Theatre in Japan, Minamiza. Continue on through Hanamikoji street admiring the oldest tea houses and the world renowned Miyako Odori Geisha performance theatre. Next enter through the illustrious gates of Yasaka shrine then on into see the oldest cherry blossom tree in Japan which stands magnificently in the centre of Maruyama park. Stroll through the parks’ ponds, down winding roads past several other prominent temples, until we reach the eminent Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Kiyomizu-dera temple is the most well renowned Buddhist temple in Japan and is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji, and Otsu Cities). It is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
